Our law firm practices in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York. We do litigation in many areas, including criminal, commercial, education, family, appellate, administrative, municipal, DWI, professional ethics, judicial ethics, and professional regulation.

Mr. Zegas received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. He then attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, where he was awarded an MBA. Subsequently, he attended Rutgers Law School, Newark, where he received a J.D. degree with honors, and served as editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Zegas served as a law clerk to the Honorable H. Lee Sarokin of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Mr. Zegas is listed in the Best Lawyers in America in 3 different categories, and he is listed in Superlawyers, which, in 2005 and 2006, named Mr. Zegas as one of the top 100 lawyers in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Zegas was also named by New Jersey Magazine as one of the 50 most interesting people in the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Zegas has served as the President of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, as the Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and as a Co-Chair of the Morris County Bar Association Criminal Law Section.

Mr. Zegas has handled some of the highest profile cases in the State of New Jersey, including serving as co-counsel to former Newark Mayor, Sharpe James, in his recent criminal trial. Mr. Zegas successfully represented one of the defendants in the "Glen Ridge Trial", which involved the prosecution of four high school athletes for sexual assault, and he successfully represented Margaret Kelly Michaels in her appeal to the New Jersey Supreme Court, which, in a landmark decision, vacated her conviction, for which she had served five years in jail.

Frequently seen on TV as a legal commentator, Mr. Zegas has appeared on 60 Minutes, the Bill O'Reilly Show, Geraldo Rivera, and Court TV. Mr. Zegas has also offered legal commentary to the New York Times, the Newark Star Ledger, the Associated Press, the Bergen Record, the New Jersey Law Journal, and the New Jersey Lawyer, among other publications.

Mr. Zegas has also written numerous articles on a variety of legal subjects, including privacy, criminal law, bail, and elder rights. He also lectures for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and has taught courses on criminal practice, appellate practice, federal procedure, and computer law. Mr. Zegas, for more than a decade, has written a summary of the New Jersey Supreme Court's criminal law decisions for the New Jersey Law Journal. He also served for more than five years on the adjunct faculty of Rutgers Law School, Newark.

Mr. Zegas has also been appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on various of its committees, including the Criminal Practice Committee, Evidence Committee, and Criminal Charge Committee.
